San Francisco, CA

Alcatraz, 22 acres, was a harbor defense fortress in 1854, then a military prison during the Civil War. In 1934 was turned into a maximum security prison. Held Al "Scarface" Capone, and "Machine Gun" Kelly. Closed in 1963.

We took a cruise in the San Francisco bay and this is a shot looking back at the city. The highest point is Telegraph Hill which was a morse code signaling station.

Golden Gate Bridge, as usual it was foggy.

Pier 39, full of stinky, lazy seals.

We took a double decker bus tour of the city. This is Chinatown.
We stayed with Roberts cousins in Santa Rosa, Kelly and MS.
We took a day trip into San Francisco which is about 50 miles.
